Kindergarten Sight Words
What are sight words?!
Throughout the year, your child will be responsible for recognizing, reading, and spelling new sight words each week. These are words that are frequently used in writing and reading and are meant to boost confidence in these literacy components for beginning readers. We encourage children to memorize these words (and practice them at home) because they don't always "follow the rules" of sounding out.

Each week we will focus on specific sight words by completing hands on activities and learning songs with hand motions which will aid in memorization. Every Friday, we will have a sight word assessment where your child will read all of our new sight words along with all of the previous sight words they have learned! Below are 2 lists which include all of the words your child will learn by the end of kindergarten!
